So far we've worked the morning shift at the temple which starts at 6:15 a.m. and goes to 2:00 p.m. Prayer meeting starts at 7:00 and lasts until about 7:45 then we hurry to our assignments. We get a 15 minute break at around 10:30 and then back to work. I got to go on a session last Friday which was so neat!
Rudi works the same hours that I do but seems to be his own boss! He hopes to be able to do endownments at least one day a week. Right now we work Tues. Thurs. and Fri. mornings. Wed. and Sat. we work 11:00 to around 8:00 at night. Yes, we're back to 40 hour weeks. Hope I'm up for the marathon. On Sundays we have church from 8 to 11. Usually there's a sociable or fireside in the evening. We have break the fast, munch and mingles and dinner at other missionaries cottages all the time. Party, party all the time! I love it!
Sometimes we feel like we're back in the single adult ward again with all the eating going on. They say this is the 30 pound mission. Lets hope not.
We've included pictures of Carthage Jail and the Mississippi River. On our P-day today we took a drive to see some historical sights. It's so beautiful and the and leaves are starting to change colors. We've decided to go on short road trips each Monday while the weather is good. Next week we want to go to Quincy and Hannible or possibly to Liberty Jail. The church history sites are all so close we hate to miss anything. We can't wait to have some family and friends come see us so we can show you around.
Rudi is out riding a bike that the former missionaries left for us. He's glad he didn't bring his own bike since there are plenty here in Nauvoo.
We love and miss you all but know we are receiving many blessings for our service.
Love to hear from you. With love,
Elder and Sister Diederich

Statue of Joseph and Brigham at the place where the Saints crossed the river.
Rudi at the Mississippi River. If he had a barge or boat I think he would've tried to cross like the Saints!
Trail of Hope where the Saints left messages on the fence as they left Nauvoo.
Nauvoo Temple at night. Sooooo cool to see with all the lights on.
Fall foliage at its best!
